Job summary

Golden Touch, a family owned wholesale apparel manufacturer, seeks an Assistant Fabric Researcher in New York. You will support fabric R&D, manage testing, and keep PLM records up to date, coordinating with overseas teams and mills.

You will log fabric requests, prepare development docs, and maintain the fabric library while collaborating with design and product teams in a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fashion, textiles, or related field.
• Internship or coursework in fabric library, R&D, or raw materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Organized and able to track a high volume of open items.
• Clear written communication with overseas partners.
• Proficiency in Excel; comfortable learning new systems.
• Prefer experience with PLM or comparable development system.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day fabric research and development work.
• Assist across knits, wovens, seamless, and sweaters.
• Log incoming fabric requests and create development documents.
• Receive, log, and organize new fabric qualities and newness from mills/suppliers.
• Send fabric packages to Shanghai, India, and Bangladesh and track receipts.
• Pull together fabric information and reference materials.
• Manage the testing tracker and Walmart sample requests.
• Record test results and escalate failures promptly.
• Maintain complete testing records in PLM.
• Help build and maintain the fabric library and references.
• Communicate with overseas fabric teams across time zones.
• Support seasonal development calendars and key account milestones.
