Job summary

Li & Fung is seeking a freelance Fabric R&D Associate to support day-to-day coordination, tracking, and maintenance of fabric swatches and seasonal fabric information. You will work with mills, overseas partners, and internal Design teams to ensure samples and information are received, organized, and communicated promptly.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple samples, and proficiency in Excel and Outlook; prior textile experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fabric, textiles, apparel, product development, or related environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the shipment of fabric swatches to mills and overseas partners.
  • Track and locate internal package deliveries and follow up on outstanding shipments as needed.
  • Communicate with mills and overseas partners to confirm package ship dates and delivery status.
  • Check in, organize, and distribute fabric swatches to internal Design partners.
  • Label fabric swatches with applicable fabric details and pricing information.
  • Reattach fabric swatches to LF hangers and apply LF logo stickers as needed.
  • Communicate with overseas partners to request additional swatches of seasonal fabrics.
  • Follow up with overseas partners to obtain missing information for seasonal fabric charts.
  • Update seasonal fabric trackers with notes and comments based on daily email communications.
  • Maintain the fabric library by hanging, organizing, and ensuring fabrics are properly stored and easily accessible.
