Position Overview

The XY Cutter is responsible for cutting and racking soft shade fabrics according to precise custom specifications using automated XY cutting machines.

What you'll do

• Operate flat or automatic cutting machines to cut fabric accurately.
• Verify fabric type, color, and bolt tags against order tickets.
• Inspect fabric for defects during and after cutting; report issues.
• Cut correct quantities, rack neatly, and label all orders properly.
• Submit daily cut-out and re-cut reports with complete details.
• Trim salvage as needed; use clips on sheers to prevent damage.
• Use leftover fabric for accessories and cut linings as required.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform other assigned tasks.

Who you are

• High school graduate
• General knowledge of fabrics and hand cutting fabric
• Ability to use hand tools
• Ability to use and read a tape measure
• Must successfully pass a color blindness test
• Accurate with names, numbers, and spelling
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time
• Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
• Standing up to seven hours or more per shift
• Frequently operates cutting machinery or rotary cutting tools and hand tools
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
