Job summary

Staffmark in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Fabric Cutter to join our production team. The role offers a pay rate of $20.00 - $23.00 per hour and a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

The ideal candidate will read and interpret drawings, transfer patterns to fabric, and hand-cut fabrics to specifications, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Education: high school diploma or GED preferred; experience in manufacturing and safety practices preferred.

Location: Birmingham, AL
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret drawings, accurately transfer patterns and measurements onto fabric, and hand-cut fabric to the required specifications. This position is best suited for someone who has strong attention to detail and can work independently with minimal training.

Job Duties

Education Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Fabric Cutter.
  • Previous experience in fabric cutting, sewing, upholstery, awning fabrication, or a related field preferred.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
