Job summary

Hayward Holdings Inc. in Tennessee seeks a skilled sheet metal fabrication operator to run brake presses, spot welders, punch presses and related equipment to produce parts per blueprints and specifications.

You will read prints, measure with tools, and ensure quality while following safety protocols. The role requires 1–2 years in manufacturing fabrication and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machinery (Brake Press, Spot Welders, Punch Press) to fabricate sheet metal per specs.
• Set up machines according to task requirements and monitor performance.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic adjustments to optimize output.
• Read blueprints and use gauges and hand tools to ensure conformance to tolerances.
• Report malfunctions to supervisor and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work at various stations per production needs and assist teammates as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Operates a wide variety of machinery such as Brake Press, Spot Welders, Punch Press, and other similar equipment to fabricate sheet metal according to production demands & specifications.

OPERATIONS

• Ownership - Takes ownership to ensure best results and responsibilities are achieved as expected
• Interpret and follow blueprints and use measuring tools for designed machine operation
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain all machinery ensuring it is in good working order
• Set up machines according to the specifications of the task
• Monitor machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools
• Report any malfunctions or defects to the team leader or supervisor immediately
• Meets production to attain daily rates
• Supports shift leader and able to provide direction and train other team members
• Will be required to work at various workstations, depending on production needs

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they adhere to production needs which meet print specifications.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

• Orange Card Program - Actively participates in OCP and submits 1 plus cards per month
• Identify and eliminate process waste

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per 6S Program
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Assist co-workers in being safe by correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors when seen

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• One to two years related manufacturing fabrication experience in sheet metal required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection. Employee is required to wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
