Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, seeks an experienced 1st Shift Fabrication Operator for our Lucas, KS facility. The role runs Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

The operator will set up and run fabricating equipment (laser, saw, punch press, brakes) to cut, shape, and bend metal parts, while verifying dimensions and maintaining quality. Safety gear and OSHA guidelines apply.

Formación

• Experience operating fabricating machines such as laser, saw, punch press, and press brake.
• Ability to interpret specifications and verify machined parts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to quality.
• Willing to be cross-trained in different shop areas.
• Understand safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Set up, tend, and operate fabricating machines that cut, shape, and bend metal parts.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments.
• Set stops or guides to required length.
• Observe operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Measure pieces to ensure accuracy.
• Perform basic maintenance like oiling machines.
• Assist others in setting up and moving finished work pieces.
• Follow all safety policies and wear PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.

Fab Operator – 1st Shift – Lucas, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking an experienced 1st Shift Fabrication Operator for our facility in Lucas, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Set up, tend and operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, roller, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, punch machines, laser cutting, CNC plasma; that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, template, or computer program.
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction and report as needed.
• Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
• Assist machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Knowledge of laser, saw, punch press and press brake operations
• Understanding of product structure and usage of AS400
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to verify conformance of machined work piece to specifications
• Dedication to ensure products meet or exceed specifications as part of our quality program
• Must be flexible to be crossed trained in different areas of the shop as required
