Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a Maintenance Fab Supervisor to lead the Maintenance Department and report to the Maintenance Superintendent. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with operations, food safety, and safety teams on plant initiatives and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include supervision of maintenance personnel, scheduling and coordinating breakdown and preventive work, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Three years of supervision experience in maintenance or operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with a continuous process manufacturing facility and maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methods (5S, TPM).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate breakdown, preventive, predictive, and project work.
  • Respond to operational maintenance concerns and coordinate with operations to minimize production interruptions.
  • Maintain records in line with company policies and loss-prevention programs.
  • Oversee contractor work and ensure quality, deadlines, and safety compliance.
  • Plan expenditures within the department operating budget and uphold safety policies.

Description

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Fab Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance Department and report directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Cross-functional teamwork is critical to success in the role in working with personnel from operations, maintenance, food safety, and safety on plant initiatives and continuous improvement.

Areas Of Responsibility
  • Supervises plant maintenance personnel, and is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, controlling coordinating, scheduling, and assigning all work requirements associated with breakdown, preventative maintenance, predictive technologies, project and day to day work orders while ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulations in maintenance.
  • Provide immediate response to operational maintenance concerns and communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in all areas to minimize interruptions in production.
  • Maintain accurate records of management, operations, and maintenance through compliance with company policies, procedures and property loss programs.
  • Supervises repairs/projects carried out by Maintenance personnel and Contractors and ensures the quality of their work and their adherence to deadlines through rigorous follow-ups;
  • Plans and controls expenditures in accordance with the operating budget of the department;
  • Maintains safety, health and environmental policies and procedures while ensuring compliancy with all regulations pertaining to the maintenance department are always met.
Qualifications
  • Educational background in mechanical or engineering technology (diploma or degree), coupled with a Millwright and/or Electrician license (or equivalent) is considered an asset.
  • Three years supervision experience in the maintenance and/or operation of process manufacturing facility in a fast-paced unionized environment is preferred.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In depth knowledge of a continuous process manufacturing facility and strong experience with equipment overhaul, machining, pneumatics, hydraulics and, piping repairs with maintenance of processing equipment is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Process Improvement Methodologies (5S, TPM, etc.)
  • Experience driving Preventative Maintenance Systems
  • Willingness and flexible to work in shift as scheduled (afternoon shift/weekends)
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills
  • Excel interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite
Schedule
  • 4-10’s Rotation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time off: sick leave, vacation and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): eligible after the 1st day of employment including company match which begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
  • Base salary range of$69,135 - 93,332
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan; the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
