Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA seeks a Fab Engineer to improve product quality, yield and productivity, lower costs and resolve manufacturing line problems.

You will develop process conditions and recipes, set parameters on semiconductor equipment, and lead yield and cost-reduction projects. You will work with shift teams to control deviations, qualify new equipment and materials, and explore Agentic AI workflows to enhance processes across the Fab Engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience in a technical field.
• 3+ years in semiconductor process or equipment engineering.
• Hands-on experience with FMEA, 8D, SPC or failure analysis.
• Ability to analyze process data to find trends and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process conditions, technology and wafer fabrication recipes to improve process capability, yield and product quality.
• Set up and adjust process parameters across a variety of semiconductor equipment.
• Find, diagnose and resolve process and manufacturing line problems through root cause analysis using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D and SPC methods.
• Partner with shift engineering and other process areas to control process deviations and investigate long-term defect issues.
• Lead and take part in yield improvement, cost reduction and productivity projects.
• Evaluate, plan and qualify new equipment, materials and process baselines so products meet design and performance specifications.
• Manage, audit and work with material suppliers to meet quality, cost and risk management goals.
• Use AI tools where they help, and contribute to developing Agentic AI workflows for current or future processes.
