Job summary

Belcan is hiring for an FAA - Production Assembler 3 in Oro Valley, AZ. The role involves disassembly, assembly, re-work and minimum testing of electrical/electronic equipment, with a 1st shift and right-away start.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of related work exp in electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment or completed OJT for at least 10 products.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to work with small parts.
• Must be able to work all shifts and overtime/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Use electric solder equipment to IPC-A-610B standard.
• Prepare and tin wires, batteries, apply conformal coat, bonding.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Perform assembly and testing per instructions with supervision.
• Inspect own and others' work for correctness per drawings.
• Maintain clean, 5S compliant workstation.

Position Summary

The Assembler 3 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment

Responsibilities

• Use electric solder equipment to IPC-A-610B standard
• Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision
• Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures
• Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing
• Minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment, as needed
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 5S standards
• Maintain an acceptable safety record
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
• Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required
• Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities
• Lift and Carry up to 35 lbs
• Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side
• Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf
• Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun
• Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
• Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded
• Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling
• Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
• Typing with computer and keyboard

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Able to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric soldering gun and light machinery; Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned
• Capable of performing basic mathematics
• Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/ manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure
• Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
• Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straight forward tasks
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
• Able to perform complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operation
• Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
• Skilled at simple welding tasks and/or brazing, or soldering
• Experience with MS Office Suite
