Job summary

City of Los Angeles Helicopter Maintenance is seeking a Helicopter Mechanic to inspect, repair, overhaul, service, and return City-owned helicopters to service. The role requires FAA Airframe and Power Plant certification and a valid CA driver’s license, with weekend and holiday availability.

The annual salary starts at $126,428 with a 5.5% FAA Inspection Authorization bonus and an additional 2.75% bonus for heavy duty equipment work. Occasional factory training travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Three years of full-time paid experience as an FAA Certified Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic, with recent work in specified helicopter models.
  • Valid FAA A&P certificate is required at filing time.
  • A California Class C driver's license is required at appointment.
  • Applicants must submit the FAA certificate and, if applicable, DD-214-1 and Qualifications Questionnaire as part of the online filing.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, overhaul, service, clean and return City helicopters to service.
  • May travel for factory training as needed by the repair station.
  • Prior experience with aircraft maintenance standards and FAA regulations is used in the interview evaluation.
