Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aircraft engines and propulsion systems, seeks an engineer to drive CIPT validation efforts for F135 ECU High Compressor projects. The role focuses on development, instrumentation, and engine test; coordinating with the IPT and external partners to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years experience OR Master’s in Engineering or MBA with 3+ years’ experience

• Coordinate with IPT Leads and Product Safety/Certification/Validation to meet validation requirements and engine test/build milestones.
• Direct activities using Agile methodology to plan and manage schedule for ~14 test engines with builds split between CT and FL.
• Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and Compression Systems Engineering management.

What You Will Do

• The engineer in this position will provide project skills and management to the CIPT with a focus in validation supporting development, engine build, instrumentation, and engine test of Pratt and Whitney's F135 ECU High Compressor. The engineer will ensure all HPC milestones are met in support of the Propulsion Validation Plan.
• The engineer will work with the Validation Lead to plan and manage Test job Requests, DECXs, instrumentation requirements, and engine build. The engineer will be able to represent the IPT to internal and external customers when required.
• Coordinate with Integrated Product Team Leads and the Product Safety, Certification, and Validation group to meet validation requirements and meet engine test & build milestones.
• Direct activities using Agile methodology to plan and manage schedule for approximately 14 test engines with builds split between Connecticut and Florida in accordance with program negotiated deliverables.
• Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and Compression Systems Engineering management

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering degree with 5+ years experience OR

Qualifications We Prefer

• MS in Engineering or MBA
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in management of test engine requirements
• Prior team leadership experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to organize and execute several components of complex tasks.
• Trained CAM & Proficiency with Teamcenter, MS Project or other scheduling software and SAP a plus.
• The ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure that task requirements are met.
