Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an engineer to provide project management for CIPT validation, focusing on engine build, instrumentation, and testing of the F135 ECU High Compressor. The role requires coordinating test requests, DECXs, instrumentation, and milestones with cross-functional teams.

You will work with the Validation Lead to ensure milestones are met and will represent the IPT to customers when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience; Master’s in Engineering or MBA with 3+ years’ experience.
• We prefer MS in Engineering or MBA.
• Trained CAM and proficiency with scheduling tools.

What You Will Do

The engineer in this position will provide project skills and management to the CIPT with a focus in validation supporting development, engine build, instrumentation, and engine test of Pratt and Whitney's F135 ECU High Compressor. The engineer will ensure all HPC milestones are met in support of the Propulsion Validation Plan. The engineer will work with the Validation Lead to plan and manage Test job Requests, DECXs, instrumentation requirements, and engine build. The engineer will be able to represent the IPT to internal and external customers when required. Coordinate with Integrated Product Team Leads and the Product Safety, Certification, and Validation group to meet validation requirements and meet engine test & build milestones. Direct activities using Agile methodology to plan and manage schedule for approximately 14 test engines with builds split between Connecticut and Florida in accordance with program negotiated deliverables. Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and Compression Systems Engineering management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering degree with 5+ years experience OR Master’s in Engineering or MBA, with 3+ years’ experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• We Prefer MS in Engineering or MBA
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in management of test engine requirements.
• Prior team leadership experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and execute several components of complex tasks.
• Trained CAM & Proficiency with Teamcenter, MS Project or other scheduling software and SAP a plus.
• The ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure that task requirements are met.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products. Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
