Job summary

Stonebridge is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor in Ocean City, MD to oversee daily operations and staff performance, ensuring guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous service. This seasonal role reports to the Restaurant Manager and supervises Restaurant Team Members.

The position requires strong hospitality skills, staff leadership, and proficiency with POS and basic computer tools. You will drive adherence to brand standards and safe, profitable operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of related food and beverage experience or training.
• Ability to lead by example with hospitality and knowledge of restaurant operations.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Proficiency in basic computer and POS system functions (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong communication skills to present information and respond to managers, clients, and guests.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume.

Responsibilities

• Performs shift opening and closing duties per the manager's checklist.
• Engages with guests, soliciting feedback and applying service recovery as needed.
• Ensures revenue and check control procedures are followed during the shift.
• Assists in selecting, training, and providing feedback to staff to meet standards.
• Uses schedules, floor plans, reservations, and checklists to run the shift efficiently.
• Conducts pre-shift meetings to discuss specials and guest feedback.
• Resolves operational issues like call-outs, last-minute bookings, and inventory shortages.
• Monitors floor coverage and assists with seating, serving, and kitchen communication.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment and adheres to safety procedures.

Job Summary:

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for monitoring staff performance to ensure guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous service while maintaining safe and profitable operations in accordance with brand standards. This role oversees daily operations, provides staff feedback, and assists with training to ensure smooth restaurant functioning.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Performs shift opening and closing duties according to the manager's checklist.
• Engages with guests, soliciting feedback and implementing service recovery when necessary.
• Ensures proper execution of revenue and check control procedures during the shift.
• Assists in selecting, training, and providing ongoing feedback to staff to meet brand and guest satisfaction standards.
• Utilizes tools such as schedules, floor plans, reservations, and daily checklists to run the shift efficiently.
• Conducts pre-shift meetings with staff to communicate specials, guest satisfaction scores, and service concerns.
• Resolves operational issues, such as call-outs, last-minute bookings, inventory shortages, and delayed ticket times.
• Monitors floor volume and assists with seating, serving, and kitchen communication to ensure adequate coverage.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment for staff and guests.
• Maintains regular attendance and high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
• Monitors compliance with safety and security procedures to promote a safe work environment.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years of related food and beverage experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lead by example, demonstrating exceptional hospitality skills and technical knowledge of restaurant operations.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Proficiency in basic computer and POS system functions, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and guests.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume.

Work Environment:

• Works primarily indoors.
• Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals.
• Stands and walks for more than two-thirds of the shift.
• Regularly lifts and pushes/pulls objects up to 25 lbs.
• Adheres to safety and security procedures to promote a safe work environment.
