Job summary

General Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting chef(s) and cooks in preparation of salad, main dishes, snack trays and other foods.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Good personal communication skills
• Ensures temperatures of all foods, salads and soups are properly maintained
• Keeps clean, sanitary and organized work areas and kitchen equipment
• Excellent customer service skills

Secondary Functions:

• Assists other employees when needed
• Other tasks deemed necessary by supervisor
• Completes cash transactions when cook or cashier are not available

Specific Job Skills:

• Good verbal and written skills
• Ability to handle difficult and/or stressful situations
• Ability to follow instructions
• Knowledge of health standards and proper cooking and food storage temperatures
