Lockheed Martin in Fort Smith, AR is hiring an F-35 Aircraft Mechanic for the Aircraft Maintenance Team to keep the F-35 fleet flight-ready and safe. The role is on-site at Fort Smith, with first, second, or third shifts and extended hours as needed.

You will perform wheel and tire maintenance, inspections, and preventive work, document actions in ALIS, mentor apprentices, and uphold safety standards while coordinating with supply, QA, and engineers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with a mechanical/tire background.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/hold a Secret clearance.
• Must obtain and keep a Secret clearance; interim Secret clearance to start.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of wheels, tires, hubs, and related components.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and re-assemble wheels, tires, hubs, and brake assemblies.
• Execute wheel–wheel assembly, tire mounting, balancing; verify torque and alignment.
• Apply protective coatings and corrosion-prevention treatments; perform surface prep and quality checks.
• Record maintenance actions and parts usage in ALIS.
• Coordinate with supply for parts, consumables, and tools; ensure inventory accuracy.
• Support QA audits with documentation and corrective-action reports.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pressurization equipment; schedule calibrations and repairs.
