Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Aircraft Mechanic 3 at MCAS Beaufort to support O-Level maintenance on the F-35. Your mission includes maintenance, inspections, and servicing across aircraft systems in accordance with program guidance.

Applicants should have 4+ years of mechanical/aircraft experience and can obtain a Collateral Duty Inspector qualification. A Secret Clearance is required, with potential TDY and flexible hours involved.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years of mechanical/aircraft airframe/power plants/egress/avionics and/or crew chief experience.
• Ability to obtain Collateral Duty Inspector Qualification within 18 months of position start date.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a flightline driver’s competency card.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprint drawings.
• A current Secret Clearance (or higher) or inactive clearance with last investigation completed within the last 5 ½ yrs with the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to start.
• Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on F-35 aircraft and related systems.
• Depart on temporary duty assignments on short notice as directed.
• Maintain aircraft records and status within CMMS (ALIS).
• Support Field-Level Modifications and CLS operations as required.
• Assist with OJT training and keep production staff updated on aircraft status.
• Work on airframe and powerplant tasks and interpret wiring diagrams and drawings.
