Job summary

AAR in Ohio is seeking an avionics technician to perform depot-level modification, upgrade, test and repair of aircraft sub-systems to ensure airworthiness.

You will inspect, test, modify and repair avionic and electrical systems such as radar, radio, navigation, and power systems, using hand tools and test equipment. Strong emphasis on documentation and collaboration with program and customer reps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 3 years related avionics/electro-environmental maintenance.
• Associate's degree + 4 years related avionics/electro-environmental maintenance.
• High School Diploma + 8 years related avionics or 7 Skill Level.
• F-16 or fighter jet experience strongly preferred.
• 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
• Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Modify, upgrade, inspect, test, and repair avionics and electrical systems.
• Inspect components for defects and verify accurate assembly.
• Test systems under simulated/actual conditions to ensure airworthiness.
• Calibrate, replace, or repair components per blueprints and docs.
• Operate ground test equipment to verify system functionality.
• Assist in fabricating wiring harnesses when required.
• Document all required government and program forms and records.
• Interact with program representatives and customer staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
