Job summary

AAR Corp seeks an F-16 Avionics or Electrical/Environmental Technician III to perform depot-level modification, upgrade, and testing of aircraft subsystems, including radar, radios, navigation, and power systems. Candidates should have strong inspection, testing, and repair skills and be able to document activities per government and program requirements.

Ideal applicants hold related degrees or experience, 5th generation aircraft exposure is a plus, and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 3 years related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
• Associate's degree + 4 years related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
• High School Diploma + 8 years related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance or a 7 Skill Level.
• F-16 or fighter jet experience strongly preferred.
• 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
• Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems using hand tools and test equipment.
• Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects and for accuracy of assembly and installation.
• Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness using test equipment.
• Calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specifications when required.
• Operates ground servicing equipment to test, inspect, and verify functionality and airworthiness of avionic and other electrical systems when needed.
• Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic records.
• Interact effectively with program and customer representatives as well as on-site military representatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
