Job summary

AAR Corp is seeking an experienced F-16 Avionics or Electrical/Environmental Technician III for depot-level modification, upgrade, and test of aircraft sub-systems at Shaw AFB. You will inspect, test, and repair avionic and electrical systems, ensuring airworthiness and compliance with blueprints and procedures.

The role requires related experience, advanced education as outlined, and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. A strong preference for F-16 experience and 7 Skill Level is noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
• Associate’s degree plus 4 years related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
• High School Diploma plus 8 years related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
• F-16 experience is strongly preferred.
• At least a 7 Skill Level or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
• Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required. US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems using hand tools and test equipment.
• Inspects components for defects and accuracy of assembly.
• Tests systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.
• Calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems to prescribed specifications.
• Operates ground servicing equipment to test and verify functionality and airworthiness.
• Assist in fabricating wiring harnesses.
• Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program documents.
• Interact with program and customer representatives.
