Job summary

Wheaton College is seeking an International Student Advisor and Program Development Coordinator to support F-1 undergraduate students, coordinate ISP programs, and manage office administration. The role reports to the Director of International Student Programs (ISP) and involves advising, SEVIS management, and cross‑department collaboration.

The 40-hour, 12-month position is full-time and pays $23.00–$24.50 per hour.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident status is required to serve as a DSO.
1–2 years of international student advising experience preferred.
Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for Wheaton College undergraduate students.
Provides quality advising to undergraduate F-1 visa students regarding visa requirements and processes.
Coordinates ISP office programs, including orientation and student leader trainings.
Maintains correspondence with prospective, admitted, and current international students and families.
Manages SEVIS records, and collaborates with Admissions and Financial Services for document issuance.
Leads logistics for ISP events and special projects, including the international flag display.
Recruits, trains, and supervises student workers under Federal Work Study.
