Job summary

Chevy-Chase-Eye-Design in Chevy Chase, MD is seeking an Optician to join our team. You will speak with patients to learn lifestyle needs, take facial measurements, and help select eyewear and contacts based on requirements. You will educate patients on products, pricing, and insurance coverage while adhering to HIPPA regulations.

The ideal candidate has exceptional customer service, strong communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of a optometrist’s office environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Optician experience preferred (minimum 2 years).
• State license desired, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of HIPPA.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing & Styling: Guide patients through a select inventory of independent and artisanal frame lines, tailoring recommendations to their prescription requirements and lifestyle needs.
• Technical Accuracy: Verify prescriptions with precision and take exact digital and manual measurements, including high-end progressives.
• Delivery Flawless Quality: Verify accuracy, ensure quality control, and finalize fit for every patient.
• Patient Education: Inform patients on proper eyewear use and care and discuss lens technologies and benefits.
• Practice Workflow: Schedule appointments, manage daily workflow, and document records and orders in EMR/EPM systems.
• Team Collaboration: Work with optometrists and staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
