Job summary

Walmart, Sam's Club in Tomball, TX is seeking an Optical Associate, Non-Certified. The role includes stocking, customer service, eyewear adjustments, and processing eyewear orders in a fast-paced optical environment.

The position offers full-time hours with shifts that may vary; compensation ranges from $19.50 to $27.50 per hour plus benefits and bonuses where applicable. Training and certification opportunities are available to advance in the optical department.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for ABO exam.
• Meet requirements to work as Optical associate (minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure as applicable).
• Experience in optical retail or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stock and merchandise displays; set up and price merch; handle returns and damaged goods; operate POS and process member purchases.
• Educate members on eyewear usage and care; support contact lens insertion, removal and hygiene guidance.
• Assist in purchasing decisions, measure pupillary distance, and perform frame/lens adjustments and repairs.
• Process eyewear and contact lens orders; coordinate with labs and optometrists and ensure equipment calibration.
• Schedule and confirm member visits; maintain HIPAA-compliant records and handle insurance claims where applicable.
