Job summary

Qualifications

• 4 years as an Optical Dispenser (Optician).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Computer knowledge and ability to enter prescriptions into computerized system and place retail eyeglass orders.
• Contact lens fitting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with eyewear selection and ensure proper fit.
• Interviews patient to determine visual needs and measures.
• Enter prescriptions and sales into the computerized system.
• Verify Optical Benefit coverage and dispense eyewear.
• Perform bench work: cutting, edging, dyeing, mounting of lenses.
• Inspect final product for accuracy per prescription and ANSI Z80 standards.
• Conduct daily inventory of frames and accessories.
• Provide customer service and floor coordination duties.
