Job summary

Trans-Matic seeks an Eyelet Journeyman Toolmaker to troubleshoot and maintain tooling and production press equipment. You will set up tooling, develop processes, and work with cross-functional teams to maximize press efficiency and part quality. Strong SPC knowledge and hands-on problem solving are essential.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a metal‑forming environment with a focus on reducing setup times and ensuring production moves smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Journeyman's card as an Eyelet Tool & Die Maker, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a metal-forming manufacturing environment.
• Education and hands-on experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical problem solving.
• Strong mechanical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot production presses to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
• Set up jobs and production tooling to meet quality and performance standards.
• Develop, maintain, and improve tooling and production press equipment.
• Maintain tool books, process documentation, and required paperwork.
• Monitor and improve part quality through hands-on problem solving.
• Identify tooling and equipment issues and communicate them to the team leader.
