Job summary

Lakeside Surgery Center in Florida is seeking a PRN Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to serve Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. The role supports a leading ophthalmic surgery center affiliated with Ascend Vision Partners.

You will assess patients pre- and post-operatively, prepare them for procedures, monitor vital signs, manage IVs, and document care while collaborating with clinicians to ensure top-notch patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Florida state license as RN or LPN.
Minimum 1 year experience as RN or LPN in ambulatory surgery or operating room; ophthalmology preferred.
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery.
Ensure operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
Take and record vital statistics to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
Initiate intravenous lines (IV) and inform patients about procedures.
Assess post-operative condition and monitor progress toward discharge criteria.
Log all findings in patient files and respond to patient questions.
Monitor for condition changes and communicate with physicians; intervene during emergencies.
