Job summary

Bloomington Eye Institute is seeking a dedicated CNA/Scrub Tech to support our ophthalmology surgery center and provide high-quality patient care.

This 4-day workweek features 10-hour shifts with potential for extra days, involving intraoperative support, patient preparation, turnover, and collaboration with physicians, RNs, and staff. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, CNA or Surgical Technologist certification, CPR (preferred), and comfort lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA certification or Surgical Technologist certification (preferred).
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Experience in ophthalmology, surgery, or an ASC setting (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform essential physical tasks.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suites, including supply setup and instrument readiness.
• Assist with patient preparation and/or discharge (vitals, gowning, comfort care).
• Support intraoperative care under RN and physician supervision.
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Turn over and clean ORs; clean and sterilize instruments.
• Provide postoperative support and monitor patient needs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects.
• Help train and orient new staff; validate competencies.
