Keplr Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician I to support the optometrist in delivering high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient pre-screening, insurance education, and efficient scheduling to ensure a flawless patient experience.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of related experience, strong communication, and organizational skills. The position is full-time and on-site at our Belmont, NC location, with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience as an Optometric Technician preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-screen patients before they see the optometrist and administer diagnostic tests.
  • Gather patient medical history and maintain documentation.
  • Communicate with doctors, staff and patients clearly.
  • Answer calls, greet patients and schedule appointments.
  • Educate patients on vision benefits and insurance coverage.
  • Train patients on contact lens use and care.
  • Obtain authorizations and verify benefits.
  • Post charges for exams, co-pays and products sold.
  • Assist team to meet individual and group goals.
  • Document optometry exams and procedures as performed by the doctor.
  • List diagnoses, symptoms and follow-up instructions as directed.
  • Coordinate scheduling and monitor patient flow; communicate delays.
