Job summary

National Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician at our America’s Best location in South Jordan, UT. The role supports the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing, ensuring smooth patient flow. Training is provided, and Sundays are off; availability Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM is required.

You will help with patient care, prepare equipment, and coordinate with the team to deliver quality eye care with a focus on customer service and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Retail/optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Ability to give clear instructions to customers.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the office.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases and ocular abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient information; identify special needs.
• Coordinate with optician, Doctor, or Retail Management when necessary.
• Ensure equipment maintenance for doctor and pre-test rooms.
