Primary Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extrusion machines according to job specifications and safety standards.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent quality and output.
- Adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, temperature, pressure) to maintain optimal production conditions.
- Make repairs to equipment when necessary and replace all broken and/or worn components.
- Perform routine quality checks and inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Record production data and complete shift logs accurately.
- Load raw materials and monitor material feed.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any safety problems to the Production Manager immediately.
- Commit to our continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Identify, label, weigh and dispose of scrap.
- Clean and maintain machines and work area to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality control teams as needed.
- Fulfill the role as required in the documented quality system manual, directives and work instruction.
- Identify and resolve basic machine malfunctions or deviation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
- 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. standing/walking 8 hours per day.
- Ability to read and write English clearly and concisely.
- Must have the capability to correctly identify the different materials and product.
- Ability to drive a forklift to move material and pipe.
- Must be able to work with minimum direction after being trained.
