Job summary

Teknor Apex Company in Leominster, MA is seeking an R&D Technologist - Extrusion (8:00AM - 5:00PM) to support extrusion operations and material development. The role focuses on setting up and running extrusion lines, evaluating thermoplastic compounds, and providing feedback to materials engineers.

The ideal candidate has 4–5 years in plastics/tech environments and an Associate’s Degree in science or technology, with opportunities to assist on pilot lines and potentially engage in injection

Qualifications

• 4–5 years plastics or other technology environment experience
• Experience manufacturing parts from thermoplastics via extrusion is a plus

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and operate multilayer single-screw extruder lines to produce prototype parts.
• Provide processability feedback to materials engineers on existing and new thermoplastic compounds.
• Assist with coverage on the 40mm pilot compounding line twin screw extruder after training.
• May perform injection molding or physical testing of finished material samples.
• Identify material defects and adjust processing conditions to eliminate defects.
