Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, Minnesota, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design and develop processes, tooling and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while boosting productivity and product quality. You will evaluate production equipment, perform process validation, provide production support, and collaborate with vendors.

You will use SPC and other quality tools in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, with travel ~25% expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Biomedical) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience in medical devices and extrusion is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a matrixed, global environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules and improve productivity.
• Evaluate production equipment and perform process validation.
• Provide production support and document processes.
• Collaborate with vendors for incoming components and troubleshoot equipment.
• Apply statistical tools (Gage R&R, Cp, Cpk, SPC) to drive quality improvements.
• Support Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
