Job summary

Abbott in Minnesota is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules and improve productivity and quality.

You will evaluate and support production equipment, perform process validation, and collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to implement process improvements while complying with FDA regulations and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering field.
• 3+ years manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred.
• Willingness to travel ~25% (including international).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.
• Evaluation of production equipment.
• Production support and process validation.
• Interface with vendors for incoming components.
• Troubleshoot the manufacturing process and equipment.
• Use quality tools to improve processes (Gage R&R, Cp, Cpk, SPC).
• Understand and apply Value Stream mapping, 5S, and Visual Workplace concepts.
• Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and implement process improvements.
• Support QMS/EMS and regulatory requirements.
