Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an entry-level Extrusion Operator to support and learn multiple jobs on the extrusion line in a manufacturing facility. You will operate equipment, inspect rolls for quality, and document extrusion operations, while following safety rules and SOPs.

You will start by working at the unwind, winder, or scale and rotate through shifts within a 5-day schedule. Occasional overtime and team collaboration are expected to maintain production goals and product quality.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Mechanical/Technical aptitude.
• Ability to read a tape measure to increments as small as 1/32 or learn how to read a tape measure.
• Entry Level Computer skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, written and verbally.
• Ability to work as part of a team or alone in some situations.
• Troubleshooting
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Must be able to work additional hours/overtime as needed, including weekends as business needs dictate.
• Must wear steel toe shoes, hair and/or beard nets, safety glasses and earplugs at a minimum.
• Background check and drug screen required for employment.
• 1-2 years of stable manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the extrusion line and learn multiple jobs
• Operate extrusion equipment safely and efficiently within standard guidelines
• Produce rolls conforming to quality and profile specifications
• Complete and process documents tracking extrusion operations
• Make process changes and roll changes
• Inspect quality during the extrusion process and/or finished rolls
• Communicate pertinent information at shift change
• Understand and practice safety procedures and rules
• Know the locations of and operate emergency stop buttons and fire extinguishers
• Provide relief to other team members as necessary
• Follow standard operating procedures
• Initially work at the unwind, winder, or scale
• Work assigned shifts within the facility's 5-day schedule
