Job summary

Impact Plastics Group in Hamlet, NC is seeking Extrusion Operators to join our manufacturing team. You will operate and monitor extrusion equipment, ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards while prioritizing safety.

This role requires reliability, basic math and reading skills, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work 12-hour day or night shifts. You will collaborate with helpers and supervisors to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience highly desired.
• Extrusion experience is a plus; multilayer extrusion experience is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma; technical education preferred.
• Strong math and reading skills.
• Ability to use and read tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.
• Strong punctuality and attendance.
• Positive attitude and willingness to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Make safety the number one priority and take immediate action to prevent or correct unsafe operating conditions.
• Ensure products are manufactured according to customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Work closely with Extrusion Helpers and direct daily line activities.
• Review production schedules and individual orders before the start of each shift for job-specific instructions.
• Ensure general, special, and packaging instructions are accurately followed.
• Set up extrusion equipment according to established job sheets and good manufacturing practices.
• Monitor raw materials, including color, additives, and base resin, throughout production runs.
• Monitor product quality and take appropriate corrective action to address sheet defects.
• Generate production run sheets and maintain accurate production records.
• Clean filters and change sheet-slitting blades according to work instructions to minimize dust contamination.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
