Job summary

Saint-Gobain seeks qualified Utility Production personnel for the Soddy-Daisy, TN plant. Positions include extrusion, kiln car handling, shipping, and general plant duties assigned by the Shift Supervisor. Adhere to ISO 9001 instructions and safety protocols while supporting daily production objectives.

Operate and maintain equipment, record production data, and work with the team to hit targets. A high school diploma and 2+ years of manufacturing experience are expected, with strong attendance

• Must be able to read, understand and follow all ISO 9001 work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment following procedures and safety protocols.
• Ensure products meet quality standards by monitoring for accuracy and reporting deficiencies.
• Record production data such as quantities, times, and other relevant information.
• Load and unload materials by hand or using a forklift.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and participate in Lean Manufacturing or other improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with other production operators and team members to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
• Promote and support plant initiatives.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company protocols to maintain a safe working environment, wear PPE, and participate in safety training.
• Work efficiently to meet daily output goals and contribute to on-time delivery by managing tasks and workload effectively.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean and safe.
• Collaborate with the production team to achieve shared goals and participate in team initiatives.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support plant needs.

Job description

We are currently looking for qualified individuals to fill Utility Production positions. The primary duties of a Utility Production person will be to work in extrusion, kiln car unloading, kiln car repair, shipping, kiln fireman or any available position in the plant as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.-

• Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment specific to the assigned area according to standard procedures and safety protocols while ensuring product specifications, quality and accuracy.- -

• Ensure that all products meet quality standards by consistently monitoring for accuracy and detail throughout production and reporting any deficiencies to the supervisor.

• Accurately record production data, such as quantities, times, and other relevant information.

• Load and unload materials by hand or using a forklift.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes and participate in Lean Manufacturing or other improvement initiatives.
