Job summary

HM Staffing Solutions LLC is seeking an Extrusion Operator for our manufacturing facility in Gray Court, SC. You will operate film extrusion lines, monitor product quality, complete production paperwork, and support shift changeovers with a safety-focused mindset.

The ideal candidate has basic math skills, pays attention to detail, communicates well, and can work independently or as part of a team to meet production targets while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months on-the-job training or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in extrusion, film manufacturing, plastics, or related production environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned film extrusion lines according to SOPs.
• Monitor product quality during shift changes and perform hourly quality checks.
• Test and verify treatment, gauge, and width specifications.
• Enter production and roll information into the plant computer system.
• Ensure products are packaged according to customer specifications.
• Provide material samples to QA laboratory for testing.
• Complete first-piece inspections and changeover documentation.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of all production paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Promote and follow safety policies, PPE requirements.
• Report equipment issues, safety hazards, and quality concerns to Shift Supervisor.
• Prepare for production changeovers and order transitions.
• Assist Maintenance and other production team members as needed.
• Support teamwork across plant departments and maximize production efficiency.

• Ability to read and understand safety procedures, work instructions, and operating manuals.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve problems, follow detailed instructions, and make sound decisions in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.

This position works in a manufacturing facility with exposure to operating machinery, production equipment, and varying temperatures typical of industrial environments. Candidates must be able to work safely and effectively while meeting production and quality expectations.
