Indorama Ventures is seeking an Extrusion Machine Operator to operate and maintain extrusion machinery, producing pellet as per company specs. You will work to ensure efficiency, quality, and safe operation while supporting team goals and production targets.

The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, follow safety protocols, and perform routine PM tasks on equipment. Teamwork and reliability are essential in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Extrusion Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce pellet according to company specifications. Simultaneously operate one more extrusion lines safely to produce quality products, meet team goals and maintain product safety. Work in a team environment supporting fellow employees.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

• Set up and operate extrusion machines to produce pellet based on production schedules and specifications.
• Monitor machinery during operation to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality and meet production targets.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks on extrusion equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot issues with machinery and make necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure extrusion processes, on the assigned lines, run stable at standard speed and output.
• Use instruments, machine readings, audits, and inspections to verify quality specifications compliance. Document results on time per process records required.
• Have a working knowledge of all extrusion and support operations.
• Operate and make standard process adjustments as needed, while maintaining Process Parameters Sheet (PPS) compliance, to ensure product quality, process stability, and output.
• Perform and document Operator level equipment preventive maintenance (PM).
• Perform process PM (i.e. change filters, change dust collection pots, clean out piping buildup, etc.)
• Possess and engage a thorough working knowledge of extruder operations.
• Understand, properly interpret, and apply quality specifications to ensure quality compliance during the process on assigned lines.
• Effectively communicate with fellow employees, sharing information to ensure team is working towards and meeting team goals.
• Responsible to take material samples on time at all sampling points and do first pass assessment of quality.
• Notify Supervisor of needed machine and equipment repairs and modifications, via Work Requests.
• Accurately complete daily production line documentation.
• Provide significant hands-on contribution to machine repairs, as needed.
• Maintain clean orderly equipment and work areas.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Produce safe, legal and quality products.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Experience And Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience manufacturing environment a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, noisy and industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and warehouse procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Must be able to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Position requires approximately 12 hours of working in extreme temperatures.
• Position requires approximately 12 hours per day standing and/or walking.
• Full-time, with flexibility to address operational needs during non-standards hours.
