Job summary

Proterial Cable America is seeking an Extrusion Manager to lead all extrusion operations for medical tubing. You will oversee supervisors, leads, and operators, driving safety, quality, and on-time delivery while meeting cost objectives.

Responsibilities include coordinating staffing, optimizing extrusion processes, and collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment performance. A strong background in regulatory manufacturing is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in extrusion.
• 3+ years managing supervisors and production teams.
• Experience in medical tubing, catheter, wire and cable, or other regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of thermoplastic extrusion processes, including single-lumen, multi-lumen, co-extrusion, and tight-tolerance products preferred.
• Knowledge of extrusion equipment, tooling, materials, and process controls.
• Understanding of SPC and process validation.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Results-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead extrusion supervisors, leads, and operators.
• Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, training, and cross-training initiatives.
• Direct daily extrusion operations to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to optimize extrusion processes and equipment performance.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and equipment upgrades.
• Participate in new product introductions and process transfers.
• Ensure process documentation and work instructions remain current and effective.
