Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is seeking a General Laborer for extrusion packing on the Day Shift in Portland, OR. The role offers a base wage of $19 per hour and involves reading packing instructions, handling materials, and ensuring quality and proper packaging of finished products.

Ideal candidates will be able to work in a team, use basic tools and measuring equipment, and keep a steady pace on a conveyor line. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities in a large, global extrusion

Qualifications

• Must read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to their position.
• Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipment.
• Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment.
• Must be able to keep up with a moderate speed conveyor line.

Responsibilities

• Receives prints and understands packing instructions from saw operator.
• Cuts wood on saw to use for packing or banding, when needed.
• With assistance, lift metal from rack to packing cart and hand-pack bundles per specs.
• Maintains ID for all racks and bundles in process.
• Loads metal onto conveyor belt when required.
• Visually inspects ends, cut length and material for accuracy and quality.
• Ensures finished material leaves area properly packaged and marked.
• Notifies Lead Person of potential problems with pack patterns.
• Other duties as assigned.
