Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines that extrude or draw thermoplastic or metal materials into hoses, bars, tubes, or rods
• Determine setup procedures and read blueprints and drawings
• Set controls to regulate vacuum, pressure, temperature, and sizing rings
• Synchronize extrusion speed and adjust controls as needed
• Inspect for defects and ensure conformance to specifications
• Install, connect, test, and adjust equipment; access work areas via pols and ladders
• Remove excess filaments and seal splices; position insulation over conductors
• Activate extruding machines and reel products into rolls
