Job summary

Parker Hannifin Massachusetts is seeking a Manufacturing Associate I to support multiple value streams, ensure productivity and quality, and rotate with cross‑functional teams. You will work 6:00 AM–2:30 PM EST and participate in LEAN and High Performance initiatives to uphold Parker’s culture.

This role requires basic machine operation, measurement with calipers and verniers, documentation, safety and 5S, and teamwork to meet time‑sensitive production goals across extrusion, molding, trimming,

Qualifications

  • Manual dexterity and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Strong reading, writing and basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and prepare raw materials and dies for jobs.
  • Use calipers and verniers to measure and inspect materials.
  • Assist in extruder setups and basic operations; perform routine maintenance.
  • Complete daily documentation and reporting metrics on time.
  • Troubleshoot basic computer and material issues and coordinate with other departments.
  • Support cross‑functional areas such as extrusion, molding, trimming, and splicing.
  • Support Lean and High‑Performance initiatives; participate in training and team improvement activities.
  • Follow Safety and 5S protocols and use PPE as required.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager and Value Stream Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the department's productivity and quality goals are met. As a leader in integrity and quality, the Manufacturing Associate I is part of a cohesive team manufacturing high-quality products. This diverse and exciting role cross‑trains in different value streams based on the changing needs of the business. You will interact fluidly with peers, supervisors and work cross‑functionally with Quality Control, Logistics, and Process Engineers. At Parker, you will cultivate a strong culture by participating in High Performance Teams and operating in a LEAN environment. In this position you will work from 6:00 AM–2:30 PM EST.

Responsibilities
  • Verify and use needed raw materials from freezer, thaw materials, and cut specific amounts to reload into machines. Obtain dies for individual jobs.
  • Use tools such as calipers, verniers and other measuring devices to perform and evaluate work on basic machines to complete work orders.
  • Perform assistance on multiple extruder machine setups and basic operations to prepare, process, and inspect materials for optimal quality and output. Perform routine/basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Complete daily documentation and reporting metrics accurately and on time as outlined.
  • Perform basic computer and material troubleshooting and communicate between departments and notify leaders and engineers of issues.
  • Work cross‑functionally in designated areas to support business needs such as extrusion, molding, trimming, and splicing.
  • Support company LEAN and High‑Performance team objectives and initiatives to promote company culture through by assisting with training/shadowing and filling out team improvement board information and/or Starpoints.
  • Sustain Safety and 5S program, use appropriate PPE for designated area, which includes work with or around chemicals.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • 0‑2+ years of manufacturing experience required. Good manual dexterity and hand‑to‑eye coordination a plus.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team to meet time‑sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to perform math, reading, writing and computer skills such as basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and use of computers with Microsoft Office.
  • Must demonstrate effective understanding and use of verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long durations up to 8 hours, and lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working daily around hazardous chemicals.
Conditions of Employment

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Compensation
  • Pay Range: $19/hr to $31/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
