Job summary

Mars is seeking an Extruder Operator to safely run and set up extrusion, drying, and coating equipment to meet daily production targets while upholding safety and Mars quality standards.

Starting pay is $25.53/hour plus a $2 shift premium for 2nd/3rd shift, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus for new hires. Candidates should have a HS diploma, manufacturing experience, and good math, reading, and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
• Minimum of three years manufacturing experience
• Good math, reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up extruding, drying, and coating equipment safely and efficiently to meet daily production goals.
• Observe Lockout/Tagout and safety procedures.
• Operate extruders to meet food safety temperatures and gelatinization requirements.
• Complete all food safety/quality checks and act on non-compliance.
• Report disruptions to production plan, quality issues, downtime or material deficiencies.
• Monitor equipment efficiency, downtime, throughput and safety requirements.
• Interpret daily production run schedule and execute accordingly.
• Communicate disruptions to production plan and material issues clearly.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment in milling/processing area.
