Job summary

Dexian Government Solutions seeks an onsite Extreme Networks engineer at the DLIFLC Monterey location. You will manage Extreme Networks infrastructure, perform planning, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting while coordinating with multiple departments to deliver integrated solutions.

The role requires strong networking expertise, certification in Extreme Networks (sponsorship available), and eligibility for a NACLC Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a relevant field with 5+ years' experience or AA/AS with 7+ years, or 9+ years in network infra.
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
• Experience with deployment and administration of routing, switching, wireless, firewall, load balancing, and related protocols.
• Certifications: Extreme Networks (will sponsor), IAT Level II security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage network projects from planning to documentation, including upgrades and expansions.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement effective solutions.
• Attend and conduct cross-department meetings for integrated solutions.
• Translate technical details for higher-level audiences.
• Train networking team on Extreme Network changes and best practices.
• Interface with customers and peers on services best practices.
• Perform after-hours maintenance windows.

MUST BE ABLE TO HOLD AND MAINTAIN A US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE

Position Overview

The person in this position will be the onsite Extreme Networks engineer managing the Extreme Networks, who possess a combination of experience, skills, and qualifications.

Job Duties

• Manage network related projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation, including network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure expansions.
• Troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
• Attend and conduct meetings with other departments for integrated solutions.
• Speak to and translate complex technical terminology to higher level authorities.
• Train networking team on Extreme Network changes, processes and best practices
• Interface, work with, and assist customers and peers with customer services best practices.
• Perform after hours maintenance windows.
• Ability to lift and implement devices at 30 lbs.

Job Requirements

• Educational requirements include BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years, AA/AS with 7+ years' experience or substitute with 9+years of relevant experience working with network infrastructure, with focus on Extreme Networks products and solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including but not limited to LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security. Experience with deployment and administration of routing, switching, wireless, firewall technologies, load balancing, and protocols
• Certified to work on Extreme Networks products, such as switches, routers, access points, and network management tools.
• Shall possess a combination of experience and skills with the following manufacturers and applications:
• VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2)
• Ruckus Layer 2 Switches / Wireless Controller / Wireless Access Points
• Palo Alto Networks Firewall knowledge of PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450 / WildFire/URL Filtering
• Brocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
• Cisco Networks switches and routers
• Aruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers / Access Points / Airwave / ClearPass
• Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System
• Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, and MPLS
• SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends.

Required to Start Qualifications

• IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification is Required to Start
• Extreme Certified (Will Sponsor the Right Candidate)
• A NACLC Public Trust Clearance is required to Start.
