Job summary

Pendleton County Schools is seeking an Extra-Curricular Mentor/Transitional Trainer for Long-Term Substitute Teachers in Pendleton County Central Office. This contract/hourly extracurricular assignment is paid at $40.00 an hour, with up to 3 hours per month, and hours must occur outside the regular instructional day.

The trainer will onboard new staff, share district policies and procedures, and provide coaching to improve instructional effectiveness and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of county policies and procedures.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist long-term substitutes in becoming familiar with school and county expectations.
• Provide orientation to school procedures, staff, schedules, and operations.
• Explain county and school policies and reporting requirements.
• Assist substitutes with materials, technology, and support personnel.
• Document mentoring activities and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Submit required documentation according to county procedures.
