Responsibilities

• Aliquot urine and oral fluid specimens for sample preparation.
• Perform extraction techniques: hydrolysis, SPE, and liquid-liquid extraction per SOPs.
• Prepare samples for LC/MS-MS analysis.
• Restock reagents and buffers as needed; maintain inventories.
• Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and accurate records.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate when appropriate.

Job Details: Job Location: Flagstaff - Flagstaff, AZ, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 4 Year Degree, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Extractions Lab Technician – Laboratory Operations- Flagstaff, AZ We are seeking a self-motivated Extractions Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Operations team. Under the supervision of a Laboratory Manager, the Extractions Technician is responsible for preparing biological specimens for analysis using confirmation instrument technology. This includes handling urine and oral fluid specimens, performing sample preparation and extraction of analytes, and maintaining strict adherence to chain of custody documentation. Shift: M-F 7am-3:45pm OR M-F 3:30pm-12:15am Pay Rate: $19.50-20.00 per hour Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM Primary Responsibilities Aliquot urine and/or oral fluid specimens for sample preparation procedures Perform sample preparation techniques including specimen hydrolysis, solid phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extraction in accordance with laboratory SOPs Prepare samples for liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) analysis Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as needed Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies Troubleshoot issues as necessary and elevate when appropriate Maintain accurate records associated with specimen preparation and chain of custody Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with education, training, and abilities Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical/Pre-Med, Forensics, or Toxicology) required Laboratory experience preferred Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) required Strong hand-eye coordination required Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy required Benefits Cordant supports employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package to eligible staff (per state regulations), including: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
