Job summary

Trulieve is seeking an Extraction Technician I in New York to perform extraction and production operations, prep and weigh materials, and verify input and output quality across batches.

You will set up and change over preroll, BHO, ethanol, CO2 extractors, monitor performance, complete routine checks, and document steps to ensure cGMP compliance and traceability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1+ year working with processing quality in a cannabis production setting.
• Experience operating multiple extraction machines (BHO, ethanol, CO2).
• Experience with machine setup, changeover, and routine checks.
• SAP/Emaint/Metrc/BioTrack/MJ Freeway entry experience preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced controlled environment.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work with chemicals and sharp objects.

Job description

• Perform extraction and production operations
• Prep and weigh materials and ensure quality of input and output material
• Inspect incoming flower and pre-roll batches for moisture, texture, quality, size, and sorting
• Fill socks and complete pre-operation duties
• Set up and change over preroll, BHO, ethanol, CO2, winterization, filtration, off-gassing, packaging, extraction-support, and labeling equipment
• Operate and monitor extraction and supplementary machinery
• Perform machine setup, changeover, normal operations, routine equipment checks, and minor adjustments
• Escalate complex equipment issues to maintenance
• Complete paperwork checks, preventive-maintenance documentation, and equipment issue reporting
• Verify equipment safety protocols, operating rates, and machine performance
• Clean equipment, complete verification paperwork, and use PPE according to cGMP and Trulieve standards
• Train Extraction Technician I employees on machine and production activities
• Maintain detailed task records for documentation and traceability
• Collaborate with Facilities, Maintenance, and leadership to resolve documentation and equipment issues
• Notify leads of quality, machine-operation, and material challenges and fixes performed
• Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

• Controls and instrumentation experience
• 1+ year working with processing quality at Trulieve
• Minimum 6 months in the Extraction Technician I role or 2 years working with equivalent equipment complexity
• Experience operating and monitoring at least three extraction and supplementary machines, including BHO extractors, ethanol extractors, CO2 extractors, Roto equipment, VTA, and winterization processes
• Experience with machine setup, changeover, normal operations, routine equipment checks, and minor adjustments
• SAP/Emaint/state-mandated system (Metrc, Biotrack, MJ Freeway) entry experience preferred
• Outstanding communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced controlled environment
• Able to work with chemicals, oils, and sharp objects
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Able to work under minimum supervision and pressure
• Able to manage changes in working schedule
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 21 years of age (or minimum 18 in CT, PA, and WV)
• Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening
• Proven mechanical and problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE and work with organic matter and cannabis particulates
• Ability to work seated/standing for extended periods and perform climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand movements
• Visual acuity sufficient for equipment operation, computer-terminal reading, and detailed inspections
• Ability to communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers and leadership
