Job summary

Ag Processing Inc (AGP) is hiring for a hands-on production operator. The role involves operating, monitoring, and adjusting plant equipment, collecting samples, and ensuring quality and safety across shifts.

Training is provided, and advancement opportunities exist through specialized operations or supervisory tracks. The position is a hands-on, outdoor-friendly industrial role with rotating 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment to maintain efficient plant operations.
  • Monitor process controls, gauges, and equipment performance for safe operation.
  • Collect product samples per SOPs and perform quality testing.
  • Make process adjustments based on quality results and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate production records, equipment logs, and shift documentation.
  • Perform routine inspections, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with minor equipment repairs and identify maintenance needs.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment as required.
  • Follow all safety, food safety (if applicable), and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate production issues to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment to maintain efficient plant operations.

  • Monitor process controls, gauges, and equipment performance to ensure safe and effective operation.

  • Collect product samples according to standard operating procedures and perform or coordinate quality testing.

  • Make process adjustments based on quality results and operating conditions.

  • Maintain accurate production records, equipment logs, and shift documentation.

  • Perform routine inspections, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance on equipment.

  • Assist with minor equipment repairs and identify maintenance needs.

  • Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment, as required.

  • Follow all company safety policies, food safety requirements (if applicable), and environmental regulations.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and communicate production issues to supervisors.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • At least 18 years old

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (training provided)

  • Ability to:

    • Carry 50 pounds

    • Lift up to 65 pounds

    • Push/pull up to 120 pounds

Work Environment

This is a hands-on industrial position. Candidates should be comfortable:

  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Working around grain dust and industrial equipment

  • Climbing ladders and stairs up to 120 feet high

  • Working rotating 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Typical schedule:

  • Rotating swing shifts (7a-7p / 7p-7a)

  • Multiple consecutive workdays followed by multiple days off
