Job summary

SGS is seeking an Extractable and Leachable Chemist I in New Jersey to perform extractions, sample preparations, and setup of analytical equipment for GC-MS/FID, LC-MS/PDA, and ICP-MS/OES analyses on extractable and leachable testing of pharmaceutical containers and medical devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science.
• 0–2 years of experience in analytical laboratory operations.
• Knowledge of HPLC and/or GC and/or ICP instrumentation is a plus.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform extractions, standard solution prep and sample prep to support GC-MS/FID, LC-MS/PDA, and ICP-MS/OES analyses on extractable and leachable testing.
• Carry out solvent extractions and sample prep on pharmaceutical products and packaging materials.
• Prepare chemical solutions following SOPs and test protocols.
• Assist with routine setup, maintenance, and operation of basic lab equipment.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals and order supplies as needed.
• Manage chemical and sample disposal and lab waste.
• Maintain test areas and glassware cleanliness.
• Document all testing activities per cGMP and SGS policies.
• Adhere to cGMP and GLP regulations and SGS Integrity program.
