Job summary

Unitek Learning seeks an Externship Coordinator for Medical Assisting programs. You will manage externship site development, student placements, compliance, and documentation to convert externships into employment outcomes.

You will build relationships with healthcare employers, monitor student progress, and ensure on-time starts while supporting accreditation requirements and smooth program completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on Medical Assisting experience.
• 2+ years of experience in project coordination, community engagement, employer relations, or career services preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Customer-service mindset with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, employers, and faculty.
• Willingness to travel frequently for externship site visits.

Responsibilities

• Secure, maintain, and expand a network of externship sites.
• Coordinate student externship placements to ensure on-time starts.
• Monitor student attendance, progress, and completion of externship hours.
• Conduct site visits, mid-point check-ins, and final evaluations.
• Confirm all required documentation is complete and compliant prior to placement.
• Collaborate with Career Services Advisors to align externship experiences with opportunities.
