Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking an External Packaging Project Coordinator to oversee outsourced packaging, labeling and distribution for clinical studies. You will act as the primary interface between GSK and external service providers, ensuring GMP compliance and on-time delivery across global studies.

The role requires strong project coordination, stakeholder management and a proactive approach to risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Supply Chain or related discipline.
  • Experience in Clinical Trial Supplies, Clinical Supply Chain or R&D operations.
  • Understanding of GMP requirements and quality systems.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate external packaging, labelling and distribution activities for clinical studies from planning through execution and documentation review.
  • Act as a key interface between GSK and external service providers.
  • Monitor timelines, priorities, and risks to support study delivery.
  • Track packaging campaign progress and proactively mitigate risks that may impact study timelines.
  • Support implementation of packaging strategies aligned with clinical study requirements and forecasting assumptions.
  • Communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints to internal stakeholders.
  • Review production documentation in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Support deviations, investigations, CAPAs and audit‑related activities.
  • Ensure vendors operate within approved quality agreements and established procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve packaging processes, vendor management practices, and operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.

Position Summary

You will coordinate and oversee outsourced clinical packaging, labelling and distribution activities with external partners, ensuring safe, compliant and on‑time delivery for a portfolio of clinical studies. This role offers the opportunity to work across the clinical supply chain as a key liaison between Clinical Supply Chain, Quality, and external partners to ensure uninterrupted supply of investigational products for global clinical studies.

Basic Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Clinical Trial Supplies, Clinical Supply Chain or R&D operations.
  • Understanding of GMP requirements and quality systems.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualification
  • Knowledge of deviations, CAPAs, change control and audit processes.
  • Experience working with external vendors and CMOs.
  • Experience supporting global clinical studies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP or supply chain planning systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage digital and AI‑enabled solutions to simplify processes, improve data visibility and increase operational efficiency.
